TLDR: GO PLAY THESE GAMES ASAP I’ve played over 100 escape rooms and Key to Escape is easily in my top 10. The owner, Roger, is a kind and wonderful man who really took his time to get to know us and loved talking about the history of Statesville and his love of building escape rooms. You can feel the love that was put into this business when you walk in. We only had time to play the Oz and Under Pressure rooms but I love how intentional everything is. Their goal is clearly to keep you immersed in the world of the room. The rooms are just challenging enough. If you only have time for one room, I would consider the following: -Oz is great for families -Under Pressure is slightly more physically demanding -Both are a great time with plenty of opportunities to work collaboratively and independently We can’t wait until we can go back to play the Elf room and talk about Key to Escape often, months out from our original trip.

I have actually done two of the rooms at Key to Escape this year - the Elf Room and Under Pressure! Both rooms were imaginative and well designed. While some clues may be harder than others, all are solvable. The attention to detail and was top notch! A shout out to Addison and his storytelling ability when setting the scene! We go here for our sibling reunions every year or so and absolutely love it! Its been our go-to escape room as a family due to its innovative, cozy, and welcoming atmosphere. Its a real challenge each time and has been the most fun destination of the several escape rooms we have been to in the past! I've gone to this place 3 times with a group. The staff and owners are super friendly. The building is amazing and historic. They change their rooms enough to keep us coming back. The rooms are challenging and aestehetically pleasing. Also the place is really clean. If you have never been give them a go. You will not be disappointed.

I’ve done all 3 rooms and under pressure was my favorite of all. I love each of the staff members because they actually enjoy what they do and you can tell. They want you to have a great experience so they give it their all. Addison is great and very funny. Looking forward to new rooms in the future so I can come again

Key to Escape is one of our favorite Escape Room places. The group that I play these games with we even travel for Escape Weekends where we will play 20 games over the course of a weekend and when asked for recommendations Key to Escape in Statesville, NC is always one we recommend. Is amazing what Roger and his team have accomplished in a historic building and a church no less. Not a single wasted inch of space and a control room any techie would drool over.
