From the moment you pull into the parking lot, you can tell this experience is going to be different compared to your run of the mill escape rooms. The building is an old historic church purchased by Roger and his wife. Roger's labor is evident in every corner of the building. My best friend and I, team name "Unbiological Sisters", are working on becoming escape room experts and we completed both rooms (barely and not without using every hint available) available at Key to Escape in one day. Redemption works perfectly with the overall church atmosphere. This was the harder of the two rooms. Roger explained that the escape rooms aren't linear, meaning there isn't a necessary order to solving all of the puzzles. This room had a decent storyline and lots of puzzles and codes to find to solve the mystery. We believe the better of the two rooms was Under Pressure. The work that Roger and his wife put into this room was amazing. It held history and real props that were from the time eras within the story. This escape room had twists and narrow turns that kept us engaged and interested from start to finish. There is certainly a pressure to complete the room in time. We spent a lot of time talking with Roger and he was a delight. You can tell he loves what he does and is passionate about his projects. We can't wait to come back when Oz is finished!

VERY good escape room experience. The owner is very easy to talk to; friendly and personable. He does all the rooms himself from scratch, with help from his wife, and it shows/pays off. The visuals and props and practical effects of the room we did, (and I assume all the rooms at Key to Escape) are perfectly pleasing, and cater to the setting/era and storyline behind each room. Be wary, though- there are limited hints, and it's not the easiest task to win, but even though we didn't even beat the room I can safely say it's one of the more fun and engaging escape places we've been yet. Overall, great time and definitely talk to the owner if you see him, as he's not on site every day. 9/10.

A friend from FL told me this was one of the best escape rooms in the U.S. Well, it was amazing! We had a blast! Eight of us did the Redemption room—it was quite the challenge but loads of fun! The staff is simply excellent. Highly recommend this experience.

This was the best!! So much fun and so challenging!! I love the fact that it is computer activated releases, the method of getting clues is so cool! We had so much fun with these rooms my family did two for my birthday. It was so much more then just finding locks and keys when the employees slip into the narrator’s role they were funny and full of life! And the mechanics in each room went off perfectly the effects were so much fun! The rooms were clean and well maintained. If you live in statesville and haven’t been you are missing out if ur visiting and looking for something todo you have to book a room. Keep an eye out for the mini entrance puzzle. I can’t say enough good things about this experience
