We did two of their rooms and had absolute blast in each one. We love solving puzzles and this place has a lot of really interesting and innovative ones. Also loved the decor and props in the rooms - top notch. Definitely can tell people running it are passionate about creating the best possible experience for you. Very highly recommend.

Every inch of the room was packed with clues, yet it never felt overwhelming (except in the last three minutes, of course)! Our host was incredibly kind, friendly and helpful, and I learned some historical facts too!

This was THE BEST escape room experience I have ever had!! Matt was super kind and so encouraging, we felt so welcomed! We did the Under Pressure room and loved it! The history piece, the puzzles, the room layout was so fun we were still so happy with our experience even being so close to fully solving it!! Overall: highly, highly recommend!

I’ve been to escape rooms before, and I really mean it when I say this one is the only one of its kind. The escape rooms themselves are fantastic, and you can’t go wrong regardless of whichever one you pick. The fantasy, the thrill, the imagination; this facility truly goes beyond what is required of it, and creates an experience you cannot easily forget. Beyond the escape rooms themselves, the soul of this place is, for lack of any words stronger, vibrant and thriving. The people who own and operate the rooms love running them more than you love solving them (an incredible testament to how much passion goes into this business considering how exciting the rooms are to be in), and the history of the building itself only adds to the fantasy. I loved every minute in that building, and regardless of how excellently, or not, you perform in the rooms, you are guaranteed to walk away with a fantastic time under your belt.

Just completed 2 amazing rooms.( Under pressure and Wizard of OZ). Phenomenal story and gameplay. Great service. Roger and Addison were amazing hosts and answered all our questions. Gave us a flawless experience. Absolutely worth traveling to do these rooms and will be back to do more!

Absolutely incredible experience! My husband and I just finished Under Pressure - the room design is stunning — beautifully detailed, immersive, and full of clever challenges that really make you think. Every element felt purposeful and well-crafted, making it both tough and tons of fun! Robert was an amazing host — welcoming, passionate, and went above and beyond by opening up on an off day to make our date night possible. The building itself adds to the experience, full of history and charm. You feel like you're in a different world just stepping in the building. Highly recommend — this is one of the best escape rooms we’ve ever done!!!!!!

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We’ve done over 150 escape rooms across the country, and The Key to Escape in Statesville has easily earned a place in our top five! We completed all three rooms — Twist of Oz, Under Pressure, and Top Shelf Elf — and every single one was a masterpiece. Twist of Oz blew us away right from the start — the vibrant colors, incredible set design, and tech elements made it feel like we’d stepped into another world. Next came Under Pressure, which turned out to be the best escape room we’ve ever done. There’s so much to do, so much to see, and a massive twist that you’ll never see coming (you’ll just have to experience it for yourself!). Finally, Top Shelf Elf was pure Christmas magic. The tech and creativity in this room are off the charts — perfect for puzzle lovers who also enjoy a few surprises. Our five-year-old daughter Layla (who’s already done 40 rooms herself!) had an absolute blast helping us solve clues in every game. Roger, the owner, went above and beyond to make sure we had an amazing experience, and our game master Addison made the last room an unforgettable adventure. Both were outstanding — truly the best hosts we’ve ever had in all 150+ rooms we’ve played. If you love escape rooms, or even if it’s your first time, The Key to Escape is a must-visit destination. Incredible rooms, top-notch tech, and staff who genuinely care about making your experience magical. 🎯 10/10 — Highly recommended!

Best Escape room experience we have ever had. Pricey at $45 pp but it was a great experience and we will be back to do the other rooms for the occasional family night. Staff was awesome!
